Highly influenced by Butoh and the “Marvelous Reality” and Surrealism of Mexico, Salome Nieto's work intersects the lines between the material and spiritual worlds. Her curiosity lies in exploring the significance of ritual and ceremony during process and performance in the context of contemporary dance. She strives to create work that is challenging and innovative in its performance and its presentation. In 2013, Salome Nieto co-founded pataSola dance choreographing three full-length works. She has performed her work in Argentina, Canada, Mexico, Nicaragua and Thailand.
