2018-2019 Season

company 605 The Dance Centre

Welcome to The Dance Centre's 2018/2019 season! We are excited to announce a varied and stimulating series of dance experiences, featuring exceptional work by both local and international dance makers.

  • Our Global Dance Connections contemporary dance series includes work by Canadian artists as well as choreographers from as far afield as Austria, Taiwan and Australia.
  • The always-popular Discover Dance! series lineup covers bhangra, ballet, Indigenous, African, contemporary and Thai dance genres.
  • Other highlights include Iris Garland Emerging Choreographer Award recipient Julianne Chapple and improvisation pioneer Katie Duck.
  • Free community events include the annual Scotiabank Dance Centre Open House in September, and International Dance Day celebrations in April.

We aim to entertain and inspire through opportunities to engage with artistic visions from different traditions and genres. And behind the scenes, choreographic ideas are explored through our residency and research programs: there will be free studio showings and talks throughout the season.

Tickets and subscriptions are on sale now. Join us for a season of dance!
