Welcome to The Dance Centre's 2017/2018 season! We have a diverse and stimulating series of dance experiences coming up, featuring exceptional work by both local and international dance makers:

  • Our Global Dance Connections contemporary dance series includes work by Canadian artists as well as choreographers from as far afield as France, Norway and Australia.
  • The always-popular Discover Dance! noon hour series lineup covers tap, flamenco, classical Indian dance, historical, hip hop/street dance and contemporary ballet.
  • The 11th biennial Dance In Vancouver celebrates the creativity and vitality of our local contemporary dance scene.
  • Other highlights include Iris Garland Emerging Choreographer Award recipient Deanna Peters and Artist-in-Residence Colleen Lanki of TomoeArts.
  • Free community events include the annual Scotiabank Dance Centre Open House in September, and International Dance Day celebrations in April.

We aim to entertain and inspire through opportunities to engage with artistic visions from different traditions and genres. And what happens behind the scenes is just as dynamic as what you see on stage, as choreographic ideas are explored through our residency and research programs: there will be free studio showings and talks throughout the season.

Tickets are on sale now. Join us for a season of dance!
