The 7th biennial Dance In Vancouver: October 14-18, 2009
INFORMATION FOR VISITING PRESENTERS
Welcome from the Executive Director
Dear colleagues
I am delighted to invite you to the 7th edition of Dance In Vancouver, taking place October 14-18, 2009. This biennial event has been steadily establishing itself since 1997 as a chance for presenters from across North America and around the world to view the eclectic contemporary dance of Canada's West Coast, and to sample a distinctive artistic milieu.
Dance In Vancouver offers a carefully structured and intensive program with:
mainstage performances featuring some of the West Coast's most exciting and innovative artists;
informal studio presentations;
round table discussions where presenters and artists can network and exchange information and experiences;
networking events.

Here's what some visiting presenters had to say about the last Dance In Vancouver event in 2007:
"I had such a wonderful learning experience at Dance in Vancouver, not only was the dance of a very high calibre, diverse and risk taking but the meetings, opportunities for discussion and panelists were all thought provoking and moved our art form forward."
"I don't think I have ever been to a festival/conference that has excited and inspired me more than this year's Dance in Vancouver. The dance performances were terrific and the swirl of conversation and debate surrounding them most exhilarating....After what I saw during these few days, it is clear to me that what is happening in contemporary dance is far more interesting and lively than anything I have seen or heard for quite a while."
We hope you will be able to join us this fall. If you have questions in the meantime please don't hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely
Mirna Zagar
Executive Director, The Dance Centre
