Studios Summary(see below for individual studio details)
* All six studios have sprung floors and air conditioning, high ceilings. * Five have mirrors and barres, and excellent natural light; one has a wooden floor suitable for tap and flamenco. * The production/performance studio is a black box space with retractable seating for 154.
Other Facilities
* Changing rooms with lockers (free for occasional use, or rented monthly), showers and washrooms. * Washrooms at every studio level. * Lounge with kitchenette (fridge, sink, microwave) and drinks machine (Level 5). * Level 7 includes kitchenette and studio with doors opening onto a canopied rooftop terrace. * Dance Therapy Clinic (Level 5). Appointments: Vincent Walker RMT, 604 606 6438 dancetherapyclinicAThotmailDOTcom * Boardroom with 16 chairs (space for 20), table, wipe board and pinboards, projector screen and telephone available for rent: book in advance. * Access to Dance Centre services and video library (Level 6, 9am-5pm Monday-Friday). * Vancouver Ballet Society library and Dance International magazine (Level 6): call 604 681 1525 for opening hours. * Noticeboard with events information, job postings, auditions, announcements etc at reception. * Payphone (Level 1). * Wheelchair access throughout except for the Kraul and Jandali studios on Level 4.

The Judith R Marcuse Studio The facility's smallest studio, popular for its great location, superb natural light and versatile wooden floor. Opening onto the roof terrace and with a kitchen and washroom on the same level, it’s also ideal for special events. 25 ft x 32 ft/ 8 m x 10 m Location Level 7 Wooden (maple) sprung dance floor Other features: * Floor to ceiling mirror along east wall. * Floor to ceiling windows along south wall, with barre and roll-down blinds. * Floor to ceiling glass windows on south side, opening onto roof terrace, with roll-down blinds; and west side, opening onto hallway. * Air conditioned. * 8 double power points.
The Sharon Jandali Studio and The Stephen A Jarislowsky Studio Two identical studios with excellent natural light, mirrors and barres. 35 ft x 40 ft/ 11 m x 12 m Location: Level 4 (Jandali) and Level 3 (Jarislowsky) Sprung dance floor with grey Harlequin ‘Studio’ surface Other features: * Floor to ceiling mirror along west wall. * Floor to ceiling windows on south wall look out onto hallway, with roll-down blinds. * Barres along north and east walls. * Air conditioned. * 12 double power points.
The Earl Kraul Studio and The Bruce R Birmingham Studio Two large identical studios with excellent natural light, barres and mirrors. 39 ft x 47 ft/ 12 m x 14 m Location: Level 4 (Kraul) and Level 3 (Birmingham) Sprung dance floor with grey Harlequin ‘Studio’ surface Other features: * Floor to ceiling mirror along east wall. * Floor to ceiling windows on south side, with roll-down blinds. * Barres along north and south walls. * Air conditioned. * 12 double power points.
The Faris Family Studio A fully-equipped, black box space with retractable seating, suitable for performances, filming and other events as well as rehearsals. Size 46 ft x 64 ft/ 14 m x 20 m Stage size when seats in place 46ft wide x 30 ft deep/14m wide x 9 m deep Grid height 23 ft 9 inches/ 7 m Ceiling height 26 ft 9 inches/ 8 m Location: Level 1 Sprung dance floor with black Harlequin ‘Cascade’ surface Other features: * Retractable raked seating for 154 people. * Glassed-in control room for sound and lighting equipment; loading bay leads directly into studio via control room. * Rentals with technical requirements must liaise with Scotiabank Dance Centre’s Technical Director (four hour minimum call). * Small green room area and washroom backstage, with stairs linking directly to the Birmingham Studio and changing rooms/showers on Levels 3 and 4. * Lobby outside with bar area and fridge, washrooms, payphone, elevator. Please note Scotiabank Dance Centre does not have a license for serving alcohol.
